Monique McCall

Associate @ Topside

Background:

For over 20 years, Monique McCall has worked as a graphic and product designer helping scores of businesses and non-profits develop their corporate identity and design materials to support their marketing goals. Monique’s experience and creativity extends beyond design. She excels in helping business owners think strategically about how to develop their brand.

Monique began her career as a production assistant in New Orleans and quickly advanced to Art Director after joining an advertising agency in Denver, Colorado where she won awards for her designs with such clients as Haggar Clothing Company and Denver Water’s “Think. Conserve” campaign. After five years in the agency world, Monique started her freelance business with clients Breckenridge & Vail Resorts. She quickly expanded her design experience to include conceptual development of marketing collateral.

Home beckoned. After moving back to New Orleans, Monique became the in-house art director for two key New Orleans organizations: Cox Communications and the City of New Orleans. At Cox Communications, she developed the look and feel for local website insideneworleans.com and was solely responsible for designing the site’s graphics and advertising. She was promoted to regional designer with responsibility for Cox websites in the Southeast.   Monique was recruited to a similar role for the City of New Orleans where she helped developed the “I Care” campaign and design standards for the City’s promotional-collateral materials.

Following her passion of working with small businesses to develop their identity, Monique returned to her freelance business working with clients such as The Idea Village, Imagination Movers, Queen Bee Soap, and many others.

Always looking to satisfy her craving for creative projects, Monique began designing and illustrating interior and exterior lighting, textiles, and home furnishings for locally-based Pierce Paxton Design Studio while continuing her freelance graphic design business. Twice during that time, the studio was a nominee for the “Arts Award” at the lighting industry’s annual market in Dallas, TX.

Her experience in product design led Monique to develop her own line of pillows currently on sale at the high-end home furnishing stores. Monique continues her freelance work in graphic and product design, and has expanded her scope to include consulting with businesses and other artists on how to think more creatively about developing their brand or positioning their products for market. In her free time, she enjoys painting and spending time with her husband and two children.
